Motivational Monday: Ways to do OMAD

Out of all the fasting protocols out there, my personal fave is OMAD (one meal a day).  This way of fasting gives us autophagy, greater fast loss than eating more meals a day, and you still get to eat your one meal per day (most choose dinner, as it’s usually the most enjoyable and social meal).

What are some of the benefits of doing OMAD?  Let me count thy ways! Read more..

Adapting your diet to keto can be rough. It can be even more challenging when you’re trying to adapt the entire family to this way of eating. Organization and Planning – Less Stress, Better Health, Saves Money

Motivational Monday Organization and Planning

I’m sure you’ve heard the old saying ‘if you fail to plan you plan to fail’… it may be a bit corny but it’s pretty accurate.  ‘Winging it’ and not being organized and prepared does more than sabotage our weight loss efforts. It can cause a lot of stress and anxiety!  Which is a double whammy because stress increases our cortisol levels, which increases our insulin. Insulin is the fat storage hormone and stops fat loss in its tracks! Read more...

Two of Hearts: Getting Support from Your Significant Other

Two of Hearts: Getting Support from Your Significant Other

Two of Hearts: Getting Support from Your Significant Other

A couple of years ago I wrote a blog post about how I made my husband gain weight. My husband has always been super-supportive of my keto lifestyle, and eats whatever I cook for dinner. But pre-pandemic, he would have normal carby meals when he was out at work, because he didn’t really have to worry about his weight. So when I would load up our dinners with extra butter or coconut milk or whatever fat delivery method I chose for that particular meal, it was having a negative effect on him. You can’t do carbs and high fat without gaining weight!

Motivational Monday: What Things do you Say to Yourself?

I’m so proud of myself!’ or we may say ‘ya, you counted your macros today but you went over in calories.’  If we veered off our plan, it might be ‘why, why, why??? You always SAY you are going to do better but you always cheat!’

Motivational Monday: What made you realize keto was your lifestyle and not your diet?

When I first started keto, I was trying it to lose weight.  Back then that was my main concern.  I heard about some health conditions it improved/reversed, but I was mainly concerned with dropping weight. I didn’t think I had that many health issues and I wasn’t convinced that just by eating differently, that the issues I had would be solved; that would be way too easy. Read more...
