It’s that time of year. Whether you love football, or you just watch for the commercials, the Superbowl is almost upon us once again! While I’m not really much of a sports fan, I do enjoy the commercials and the party atmosphere. It’s the first big get-together after the holidays, and I really love getting to see everyone again. While I’ve published some of my favorite keto-friendly party recipes before, keto-friendly game day recipes are a whole nother thing!
With game day parties, you want recipes that are easy to graze on throughout the event. People don’t sit down and eat through two or three courses like they might do during a holiday party. Everyone is up and down, and they need foods that can be easily transported, shared, and do just fine on a paper plate. And if you know there’s going to be tempting treats like pizza at your Superbowl watch party, then you definitely need to have some keto-friendly game day recipes available to help you resist that temptation!
Here’s a bunch of my favorites!
Cajun Crab Dip – You’ve gotta have some heat at your Superbowl party. This Cajun Crab dip, from Blackberry Babe, is a great way to get some spicy variety!
Smoked Salmon Cucumber Appetizer – I’m a huge fan of salmon. Living in Canada, I have easy access to fresh-caught salmon, and my husband and son keep my freezer full! I love finding new ways to serve it, and this elegant recipe from Easy Recipes for Busy Moms is super tasty!
Grilled Chicken Satay Skewers with Peanut Sauce – This one combines food on a stick (definitely easy for paper plates) with exotic flavors for a great keto-friendly party recipe that everyone will love!
Spicy Thai Red Curry Chicken Drumsticks – Are you a fan of curry? Then you’re going to love this recipe from Strength and Sunshine!
Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken – I love using my slow cooker for get-togethers because it frees up my time to do other things. Make sure you have plenty of Ranch and bleu cheese dressing on hand for dipping!
Easy Old-Fashioned Cucumber Salad – The veggie lovers in your life will enjoy this cucumber salad. It’s simple and easy to make, and if you assemble it the day before, then the flavors really have time to mix together, making this a really fragrant and tasty addition to your game day food!
Low Carb Cajun Shrimp Cucumber Dip – While game day isn’t your usual opportunity to experiment with new flavors, keto-friendly game-day recipes are always going to be new to someone! This recipe has some unique flavor elements to make it a super yummy addition!
Keto Bacon Cheddar Dip – This recipe is like every good thing about keto ever was put together in a recipe, and this is the end result. Bacon and cheesy goodness waiting to be enjoyed during football. It’s like a keto meme in a bowl!
2 Ingredient Keto Chips – Hey, if you’re going to have dips, then some kind of chips are a must. These chips, with only two ingredients, are quick and easy!
Keto Sausage Balls – Have you been missing out on sausage balls because of the flour? Well, then, check out this keto-friendly game day recipe that will give you sausage balls without flour!
Parmesan Chive and Garlic Keto Crackers – Having a large supply of savory dip scoops is essential to the success of your game day get-together. These keto crackers give a different flavor and texture, so everyone will have something to enjoy!
Cream Cheese Stuffed Everything Bagel Bites – Check this one out! This keto-friendly recipe uses fathead dough to bring you soft, chewy treats that are full of flavor! Easily portable, this one can be made in advance and then reheated just prior to serving.
Air Fryer Garlic Mushrooms – Mushrooms have long been a game-day staple. They’re usually breaded and fried or stuffed with some kind of yumminess. This recipe gives you a breaded and fried mushroom that can be dipped in a tasty dip!
Keto Pizza Roll Ups – In my Intentionally Bare Facebook group, people often talk about their “trigger foods,” that is, foods likely to make you veer off-plan if they are placed in front of you. Pizza ranks really high on that list for a lot of people. If you’re going to a get together where a bunch of people are contributing food, there’s probably going to be pizza. If that’s one of your trigger foods, a great solution is to bring your own pizza. Baking and taking an entire fathead pizza may not be the best way to handle the temptation; these pizza roll ups give you a much more portable way for you to enjoy the flavors of pizza without the carbs!
A Superbowl party doesn’t have to be an ocean of tempting treats. You can make it a special occasion while still staying on plan if you choose to! If you’re worried about reaching your fat macro for the day without going overboard on carbs, some MCT oil capsules can be helpful! They’re portable, too!
